Theme Based Activities for Language Groups

A variety of activities will be enriched with vocabulary development, social interactions, phonemic sound awareness, as well as posing and answering questions!

STAFF: 

Our staff of Speech-Language Pathologists are professionals trained in the study of human communication, its normal development and its disorders, with focus training in dysphagia (swallowing problems).They have had experience with language acquisition, apraxia, phonological and articulation disorders, as well as Augmentative Communication, Autism, and Down Syndrome to name a few. Each Professional staff member holds her Masters degree in Speech Pathology, Ohio License as well as holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency by The American Speech Language Hearing Association.

Each group will have a Speech Language Pathologist and two Trained Assistants for a 2:1 ratio!

There will be 8 children will be enrolled in each group! Class placement will be determined by the order they are received and your stated preference.

All activities are language based and promote communication interaction amongst the children. All activities will involve language concepts of vocabulary development, social skills, requesting, answering questions and developmental language skills.

There will be daily/weekly themes, along with carryover home activities.

Activities will involve circle time, gross motor activities, arts/crafts, music, free play and snack for the 2 hour groups.

Parent Involvement:

Parents are encouraged to  ask any questions of the staff throughout our program. We will use the seesaw classroom app to update and communicate with parents throughout the program.

We welcome all interactions and feedback with parents!

All services must be paid for in advance for each of the 4 week, 8 week sessions.

Each family is responsible for providing an authorization of payment from the county through their support person, if using county funding. We can accept payment from a third party source if there is a payment authorization form submitted. This includes Delaware and Franklin County Funding and family directed resources and Medicaid. We are happy to assist families with coding for 3rd party or insurance billing should they want to submit a claim.

 

 

 

                                           


 2021 Groups Offered          $500 for 4 wks; both sessions $950

Children learn language through play in a theme based setting. Parents and children participate in a small group setting that fosters language and sound development. Oral communication, simple signs, pictures and technology is used to help early learners develop words. Parents take away strategies to use in everyday routines.

Prekindergarten Speech and Language Groups      

Children participate in a themed based preschool routine with small group language center rotations, art, music/movement and play to facilitate communication and peer interactions tailored to establish speech/language goals.

PREK 1: Mon/Wed 9:00-11:30 a.m.

PREK 2: Tues/Thurs 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Elementary: 

Children participate in a theme based school routine with hands on learning experiences, structured language activities and structured play to facilitate group participation, social communication, cognitive skills and peer interactions tailored to established speech/language goal

Participants join together to focus on interactive communication and social skills relating and interacting with others and initiating and  carrying on effective conversations and expressive skills.
